We had just picked up our rental car at Liberia Airport, and it was incredibly hot -- over 100° (37°) -- and the consensus was that ice cream was required. While everyone was cooling off, I wandered across to an empty lot and found a group of Western Meadowlarks seeking respite from the oppressive heat in the shade of a solitary tree.

Western Meadowlarks are pretty used to hot weather, but it was too much for even them on a day like this.
